Bull escapes in Exeter

A report from the Devon & Cornwall Police tells the story:

At around 1.15pm on Friday 6th May Officers were called to the Exeter Livestock Centre, at Matford in Exeter following a report that a bull had escaped from the site.

On arrival it was established that a white male steer had escaped and was described as ‘aggressive’.

Officers including trained armed response staff attended and were supported by the force helicopter.

At around 3.00pm the animal was located just off Shillingford Road, in the Alphington area of the City and was despatched by a firearms officer using a rifle.

During the search for the animal no members of the public were injured as a result of this incident.
