Princesshay prepares for Christmas
As a shopping centre, Exeter is not Oxford Street. As a provincial county capital it’s not at all bad.
One aspect of the Devon city’s retail experience, however, does stand out: Princesshay.
Walking through the carefully designed avenues, piazzas and byways takes you into a different world from the rest of Exeter.
As the Christmas and holiday season approaches — too fast for some — you can bet the retailers in this glitzy shopping mall are shedding pounds getting ready for the annual rush.
It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, though. Men sometimes moan that there’s nothing for them apart from the Apple store and Carphone Warehouse. But then men don’t much like shopping, especially when led by their nearest and dearest.
Thankfully, Princesshay has a few bars and watering holes to take their minds off the tedium of shopping.
