Silly Season: Pickles holds the flagpole
Open Europe reports that Communities and Local Government Secretary, Eric Pickles, has refused to fly the EU flag above his ministry. Now the Brussels wretches have fined him (or rather, us) £150m.
Stout Eric is refusing to pay up.
“[The] Department for Communities and Local Government has been sent a bill of £150m by the European Commission for failing to fly the EU flag outside its head office and failing to feature emblems prominently. Communities Secretary Eric Pickles has said he will refuse to pay the fines and that it would be wrong for the Government to give way to ‘bullying’ from bureaucrats.”
One wonders how long Euro-flaky members of the Coalition will support him in his stand?
