Indian summer forecast for Devon & Cornwall

During September, the UK is forecast to bask in an Indian summer.

Metrogroup’s senior forecaster Brendan Jones thinks temperatures are set to rise again this week: “I think temperatures will be pretty much everywhere two to three degrees higher than they have been,” he said. “Perhaps in the south by Wednesday, Thursday and Friday we could see temperatures of 73F (23C) or 75F (24C) here and there.”

He warned of chilly nights with close to freezing temperatures in parts of Britain (not specifically the South West) over the next two or three nights.

Positive Weather Solutions forecaster Johnathan Powell is also expecting warm weather to continue into September: “Absolutely we will be having better weather in September than we’ve had in August. I think we will comfortably edge into temperatures of around 72F (22C) which is higher than the average of around 59F (15C) to 64F (18C).”

Hooray!

Now all we need is the Met Office to tell us otherwise.
