New book for Exeter author
Exeter-based author and journalist, John Evans, who runs a local website, and various content sites under the Syntagma brand, has published a new book:
The Eternal Quest for Immortality: Is it staring you in the face? has been widely praised, not least by the world-famous author Colin Wilson. “This is really excellent,” wrote Colin, after reading an early draft.
The book traces the topic from shamanic times to the present day, and across continents, highlighting reports of mystical experiences and intimations of immortality from very credible witnesses, including the psychologists, C.G. Jung and William James, major religious figures, such as St Teresa of Avila, St John of the Cross, and the American priest, Thomas Merton.
The work looks at Nirvanic experiences, Taoist Immortals, various Zen states, and even secular glimpses of survival after death, including two that happened quite spontaneously to the author.
John is working on a new book: MYSTICS: The next step in human evolution? due out later this year.
