Exeter Chiefs win historic match

Exeter Chiefs rugby club forced its way into the rugby Premiership by trouncing Bristol last night 29-10 in the second leg of the final. On aggregate, the Exeter boys won 38-17. A well-deserved triumph.

In the past decade, Devon and Cornwall has been represented at the top of the game by the Cornish squad which made frequent appearances at Twickenham, winning well-deserved trophies.

Cornwall has slipped back a little lately, but the South West has hit back with a new round of heroes, Exeter Chiefs.

It means that some of the biggest teams in rugby, like Wasps, Bath and Leicester, will be coming to Exeter next season.

The Chiefs name inevitably means that their supporters dress as red Indians (sorry, native Americans) which adds considerable colour to their matches, especially away from home.

Next season will be awaiting eagerly in Devon’s capital city.
